The surf season runs from November till March . The best month to visit would be January. As it offers the most glassy conditions and best weather for a good time for a nice winter escape. If you are visiting for less than one month don't expect overhead surf as swells only arrive just a few days a month.

Where to stay

There are a lot of surf villages to pick from when staying south sri lanka. The best surfing villages are: Midigama, Ahangama, Madiha, Hikaduwa. (Mirrisa and Hirikatya)
